A Guide to Braves Home Opener At SunTrust Park

A few highlights and things you need to know.

April 1, 2019

Braves home opener, against the Chicago Cubs, is tonight (04/01/19) at 7:10PM.
Here are some highlights and things you need to know:

1- Stadium gates open at 4:30PM.

2- The game is sold out, even the $20 standing-room-only tickets, but there are resale tickets available.

3- Parking is limited, and the team advises fans to “either prepay for the remaining spots by visiting or take Uber to the ballpark.”

4- Earlier start times: This season’s home games will be starting 15 minutes earlier this season. Tonight’s home opener starts, at 7:10PM

5- Pregame ceremonies: Be in your seat 30 minutes early to see the unveiling of the 2018 NL East pennant, a first pitch by Braves Hall of Famer Terry Pendleton, a fly-over by the U.S. Air Force, and a “Play Ball” command by Bobby Cox.

6- Food: Come hungry if you want to try the new “Blooper Burger,” designed by Braves’ mascot BLOOPER! It’s stuffed with 4 cheeseburger patties, a footlong hot dog, chicken tenders, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, and cheese sauce, sandwiched with Texas toast!
Also, H&F Burger has moved from inside the stadium to a new location just off the plaza, and is accessible from both The Battery and the ballpark.
You can also bring your own food (inside a clear gallon-sized plastic bag) and a sealed plastic bottle of water into the stadium.
